Do you want to know the latest Home Decor Trends? Well, I am here to share. If cleaning house and purging has left your home a bit bare and underwhelmed fret no further, I have a few favs to make your home and office space complete. These are not in any particular order…
#1 METAL MADNESS
Something gold, metallic and super shimmery. For a while I have been sharing my love for metals and especial mixing metal. It’s OKAY TO MIX METALS TODAY! There are so many colors textures and applications. Try changing out your dresser hardware, put up some metallic wallpaper, accent with brass and mirrored home accessories. Get out the GOLD! Look for blush gold too. A soft pink hint takes a nod to the romantic side.
Brass is back baby!
Gold in all her glory mixing with indigo from Two’s Company.
Add vinyl peel and stick gold polka dots to your walls or furniture.
Here is the gold chevron decal that I applied to Chloes’ bedroom walls. The entire process took me just two hours!
Mixed metal vases purchased from Wisteria Flowers and Gifts.
#2 GRAPHIC PILLOWS
As a self proclaimed pillow hoarder with a designated area in my attic to accent pillows I can vow that pillows are an affordable and easy way to spruce up your home decor. Go bold and graphic and don’t be afraid to layer on the patterns. The more the merrier!
I layered on the plush faux fur pillows and large graphic euros. Twin bolsters were made from purple velvet curtain panels from Homegoods.
I loved mixing mint green, gray and golds in this teen room. Shop similar bedding here.
Mix and match Kilim turkish tapestry pillows for a global bohemian eclectic look.
#3 WOVEN DECOR
In the 70’s we used to buy macramé kits and spend all weekend creating these woven beauties. Well, they are back and add just the right amount of interest, texture and personality to your space. The bohemian look never looked so good. Look at these beautiful dyed mason jar hangers from my friend Laura at Hitch and Cord.

#4 SOMETHING BLUE.
Navy is the a new neutral in color trends these days and its appeal can adapt into all kinds of styles of decor. Paint an accent wall or back of bookcase navy, wall paper with rich patterns and purchase that focal piece of furniture to anchor a room. Walls in this office were painted a saturated Sherwin Williams Frank Blue SW 6967. Love this room? I have a blog post dedicated to this gorgeous model home I designed and decorated.
Paint the backs of your bookcases to stand out. You wont feel like you need to fill them up to create a focal point. These were painted in Sherwin William SW6244 Naval.
Who needs are when your wall paper is as beautiful as this Thibaut wall covering?
#5 HIMALAYAN SEA SALT ANYTHING
I recently went on a design consult at a client’s home and she had the most wonderful glowing pink hued lamp on her kitchen counter. I immediately had to touch it. She then surprised me with one for a Christmas present and I haven’t turned it of since. It’s claimed healing powers is just a bonus to this beautiful glowing piece of nature. Not only is sea salt found in lights, but in glassware and of course cooking. No more iodized salt for me.
Himalayan sea salt shot glasses. A perfect gift and conversation starter. Try adding small tea lights to these beauties and watch them glow. Image via UncommonGoods.
These gorgeous lamps are said to promote good sleeping habits and clean the air of free radicals. Shop various sizes color and shapes here. Images via Pinterest
#6 AGATE
One of Mother’s Natures most colorful artwork. Thee stones can be found in wall art, drink coasters, decorative hardware, lighting, jewelry, book ends, furniture and so much more.
The cuff bracelets were one of my favorites from last years Atlanta Gift Mart. They are from BlueCalypso. It was so hard to choose!nAgate is one of my most fav decor trends!
As you could see this agate photo art picture hit both my blue and agate obsession. Shop more blue agate art here.
These two hot pink agate fashion pillows fall under two of my categories! shop these affordable colorful accent pillows here. To see my daughter Chloes’ teen room makeover I share more fun colorful decor and pattern play.
#7 FUNKY LIGHTING
A simple pendant light just wont do, Lighting has taken it up a notch in decor trends and now has become even more of a piece of art. Reclaimed pieces, unconventional materials and out of this world designs are making us look up and “see the light.” It does’t have to break the bank either. Creating your one of a kind light fixture is easy.
This Possini Euro sputnik pendant light is the show stopper in my clients mod back hall entry!
I love how this industrial farm barn light becomes a contemporary work of art!
Make your own unique light. I have been collecting old yard sticks at garage sales for some time now. I randomly cut these rulers and hot glued them to a curbside find lampshade base. An inexpensive lamp kit finishes this one of a kind chandelier. Total cost under $20.
I love the way the shadows hit the walls from this twine woven pendant light.
#8 ARTISAN GOODS
Everything that surrounds us is designed by an artist, but to buy directly from an artist and to support a dream is pretty special. Hit up your local art shows, Etsy shops and hole in the wall souvenir shops for handmade items that have a story. I am obsessed with small plates, bowls and vases. I scour yard sales, and buy all of your kids handmade pottery. Turkish, Italian and Portuguese porcelain- I love them all! I love all the patterns and colors. Buy a handmade woven basket for your kitchen counter.
A portion of my thrifted hand painted pottery. Nothing below cost me more than $4. each. Jewelry, snacks, candles, trivets, wall decor, vases….the uses are endless….
How can you not fall in love with all this color? These small Turkish ceramic bowls are all hand painted and one of a kind. Mix and match them all!
This takes the phrase bean bag to a new level!
A single hand painted plate makes the plate make the perfect gift.
Also on my list of decor trends, succulent and container gardens, pineapples, and Scandinavian design!
What are a few of your favorite things that you can’t live without? I would love to hear. It’s all about making your home special and you. So think outside the box and add a little of you to your HOME. Happy decorating!

There’s so much to say about this post and these photos. They’re all gorgeous! I love the gold themed decors and it might as well compliment with a gold & white themed room. Everything looks pretty. It’s just so much fun decorating.
