Oh my! I can’t get over how many of you loved this rustic farmhouse inspired lake house. I thought that I share more of this 900 square foot little slice of Heaven that looks over one of Upstate New York’s coveted Finger Lakes, Honeoye Lake. This farmhouse inspired cottage is taking inspiration from the talented and resourceful Chip and Joanna Gaines of HGTV’s Fixer Upper: A gray cedar shake and white metal roof cottage with a wrap around porch that boasts views of the rolling hills and calm lake waters. Just enough chippy, rusty, weathered and relaxed goodness to make this sweet Summer Cottage a true “catch…”
Fixer Upper Style
True open floor plan living with lake views from all rooms. A kitchen of white shaker cabinets with a gray speckled granite counter tie in with the light and bright interior of the cottage. A large peninsula for morning breakfast or the perfect buffet for weekend gatherings. Rustic metal and wood counter stools add charm and a farmhouse touch.
Bringing your eye up I placed a reclaimed barn wood initial A, vintage fishing basket, rattan trays and a Weathered Metal Propeller add just the right touch above the cabinetry. This vignette adds just the right amount of interest and rustic charm.
The wet beach towels stop here! Here’s the finished product of the Painted Stripes Tutorial Post from a few weeks ago. Click on the highlighted text to teach you how to achieve this painted finish in just one day! A vintage apple picking ladder leans against the striped wall and holds all the beach towels and blankets. A thrifted tin container, whimsical colorful bird and chalk painted chair become a bright addition to the hallway.
Mix And Match
A gray painted and distressed vintage table with mismatched chairs adds warmth and to this open space.
Setting The Table
Adding a vintage touch the table is set with colorful frosted fruit glasses, napkins held in a wire basket along with french bistro striped linens drape the chairs. Burlap placematts and a Rustic Ashwood and Metal Tray become the centerpiece for a mason jar trio holding wild flowers from the neighboring field.
Tying in the burlap look with accessories is the this soft Family Pillow . The felt script family is so welcoming and is a perfect addition to this family retreat.
Loving Lake Life
There’s no mistaking where you’re at with the large rusty LAKE sign hung above the sliders leading out to the lake. Fresh sunflowers sit on the Rustic Metal and Ashwood Tray ontop the dark stained Odessa Coffee Table. Nestled in front of the sliders is the super comfortable Oyster White Twill Slipcovered Lakeside Chair and a Half. Sitting on top a vintage bamboo side table is the Chamberlain Table Lamp with a rattan drum shade. This lamp is the perfect reading light and adds oodles of charm and texture to this cozy weekend corner.
To fill up the side wall I purchased two sets of the Baci-e-Abracci wall mirror sets. Together they remind me of tic-tac-toe!

Chartreuse euro pillows and playful graphics and colors brighten up the master bedroom. A thrifted dark wooden headboard gets a turquoise paint makeover.
A collection of turquoise vintage vases and a painted dresser compliments the coastal art.
Cool, Calm and Collected
The bathroom with its tall ceilings is painted in Sherwin Williams SW 7661 Reflection and accented with gray and more chartreuse accessories.
A large round hand-painted mirror casts a beautiful reflection of the guest room and mirrors the scroll pattern on the bed pillows.

Great style as always. My favs: the rustic metal and wood counter stools; “Lake” sign, metal/ash wood tray, and your tic-tac-toe styled baci-e-abraci mirrors. Also love whole theme. The twin beds styled with the pillows and mirror looks lovely. Great job!!!
