Fall trends 2015: Transitioning into Autumn

Saying Goodbye to Summer

Bring out Fall decor is my favorite! The end of Summer is bittersweet for us in Upstate New York.  Last year’s winter was so long and brutal that any sign of warmth and sunshine was so welcoming.  As I still try to squeeze out the last few days of Summer Fall colors creep in little by little and bring the warmth inside. This Fall trends for 2015 include wood elements, warm metals such as brass, bronze and pewter, and textures galore. Look for twines, ropes, parchment, heavy linens and handmade global textiles. The fall color trends forecast still leaning towards dusty blues, turquoises burnt oranges and bright golden yellows.  Below are some ways to ease your decor into Autumn and still keep the warmth of the summer months.

Orange and Amber

If your summer decor included white turquoise and navy then try adding orange either in throw blankets or pillows. These colors go well with neutrals and grays. Don’t be afraid to mix in grays with your tans. Here I’ve added a gray and white seersucker pillow along with a gray, orange and cream throw.  Rustic wood trays and painted antlers add worth and texture. Mix your woods too. Rough and smooth along with dark and light woods for the perfect Fall decor statement.

Turquoise Heaven

This beautiful wallpaper by Thibaut  River Road Ballantyne (T3801) screams Fall down to the earthy colors and texture background. If your looking to paint a room or piece of furniture try Sherwin Williams Basil Sw 6194, Riverway Sw 6222 or my favorite Refuge SW6228. Rich warm blues and greens that can transition into any seasonal design. I’ve paired it up with my favorite faux wood laminate by Wilsonart Studio Teak 7960K-18. Great for home offices, craft rooms and laundry rooms. Don’t forget the cooper!

Hi Melissa. Those pillows are from HomgeGoods. They were purchased last Fall but I have seen them there and also Marshall’s and TJMaxx in other color schemes. Thanks for visiting! Amie
