Farmhouse Modern Furniture
What do you do when your job is to shop and Covid-19 closes down just about every furniture store in town? You master the art of shopping online! Welcome to my latest new construction home that was designed almost completely remotely during quarantine. You would think that with these uncertain times finding affordable farmhouse modern furniture would be difficult? Not at all it was just a click away at Raymour & Flanigan online.
Modern Design Inspiration
This 2,00 square foot open floor plan home is located in the Alpine Ridge Neighborhood in Pittsford, NY. It has a large lofty great room and kitchen. With each home that I design, I strive for an aesthetic style or color theme in hopes of creating a continuous flow that crosses throughout the homes features to the furniture and decor. White kitchen perimeter cabinets set the stage for the gray ship lapped island and black lighting, plumbing and hardware. My aim while shopping was to mimic this color scheme. One would assumed it would be difficult to find the style AND the color scheme I was looking for but the real challenge was making decisions from all the suitable choices.
Great Room Focal Point
Let’s hear it for symmetry! In the Great Room I flanked two gray upholstered Daine sofas. Crisp clean lines, perfect warm gray tones, transitional style and tapered black legs fit all of my requirements for farmhouse modern furniture online. Only to find out upon delivery that they are incredibly comfortable too! The Daine sofas arrived with fun buffalo check accent pillows that I will surprise you with later on in the post.
An Anchor Piece
Blocking the stone gas fireplace feature was out of the question so both sofas had to be spaced far apart from each other. That posed a challenge for finding the perfectly sized coffee table. No need to think too long once I found the Seward Coffee Table. I am a sucker for statement coffee tables and this one fits the bill. At 54 inches by 40 inches the Seward coffee table’s dramatic presence is exactly what this room needed. Solid wood planks and thick turned legs connect to a lower shelf and gives this stunning piece its presence.
Daine sofa delivers style for under $800! This sofa features upholstery that’s both versatile and cozy. I love it’s understated elegance. Low profile, knife stitched back pillows allow light to pour in from the back porch. With all of these great features, plus the fun patterned accent pillows, we were in for a well-balanced room with style. Behind one of the sofas we set up a bar area with the Kathleen Sofa Table that can conveniently come out into the dining area and fold out for additional dining seating or a work from home desk.
An Affordable Timeless Bedroom Set
It’s all gray and I’m not mad about it! For someone who loves color like I do, are you surprised at my master bedroom color scheme? At the end of the day a master bedroom should feel serene, luxurious and inviting. I first stumbled upon this wallpaper and chose a green version only to find out that it was backordered. Eventually going with my second choice of gray and found that it paired perfectly with the Westchester Queen Bed and matching nightstands.
They say that everything happens for a reason and I am slightly obsessed with this monochromatic scheme with crisp white and pops of minty green. The Westchester Queen Bed combines farmhouse and classic design elements to create a look that is timeless yet trending and inviting. A simple silhouette with it’s tall planked headboard and distressed gray-washed finish makes this queen bed a perfect choice for a casual chic master bedroom look.
The Westchester Nightstands have the all the modern amenities like 2 USB ports for convenient charging. See how the paneled backs match the headboard? Such a great feature so that nothing slips back behind it!
Facing the bed and nightstands on the other side of the room is this matching Westchester Dresser. Ask yourself how beautiful this is? Packed with so much storage, classic design and details that are super fresh. It’s that timeless piece that your entire family will love. I don’t think this will ever go out of style!
Mudroom Envy
Who says mudrooms cannot be stylish and chic? Instead of hiding the mudroom behind doors I carved out this functional space front and center. If you would like to learn more you can read my feature on Progress Lighting’ s blog. If you’re looking for more farmhouse modern inspiration you NEED to see my post of this incredible before and after full home renovation!
Yellow and Gray Decor
For the second bedroom at the front of the house I chose a bright, happy, oversized yellow plaid wallpaper. Yellow and gray are a smart pairing. The yellow awakens the gray and adds a playful touch. I chose the Percel Full Metal Bed. The dark bronze, almost black finish and decorative lines paired with curved corners pay homage to the beloved classic iron bedbug yet still said farmhouse modern furniture. This sturdy metal welded frame will last for years to come for under $400! To introduce that crisp white I chose the Colette Nightstand. It too has USB chargers built in and its style reminded me of the Westchester Nightstand in the master bedroom.
A pleasant surprise awaits those walking up to this vignette. For storage I purchased the gorgeous 7 drawer Colette Bedroom Dresser. The contrasting wood tones are beautifully paired with the base trim. The dark wood grain is a stark contrast to the white painted body. I love how the dresser knobs matched the bronze metal bed frame. Another timeless Farmhouse modern furniture piece added to our collection.
Stylish Choices at Outlet Prices
The lower level is filled with light thanks to not one but TWO large egress windows. This space turned out to be a more casual, cozy family room area. It’s no secret that I am in love with slipcovered furniture. Did you see my previous post with my all time favorite white slip covered sofa that is in my new studio? Slipcovers are forgiving and that is a buzz word when talking about kids, pets and everyday mishaps. I headed to the Raymour and Flanigan outlet and found the gray slipcovered Willowick Sofa. This is not the first time that I have ordered this comfortable sofa for a farmhouse modern furniture project.
For the coffee table and matching end table I fell in love with Bookman Lift Top Coffee Table. These sturdy pieces tie all of the elements of this room together so well. Their rustic reclaimed wood finish adds a casual warmth and handmade look.
These pieces look handmade and sturdy. Look at all the rustic texture and detail. And at $158. for the end table and $298 for the lift top coffee table I am not sure we could make it ourselves any less expensive!
Electric Fireplaces
The electric fireplace has come a long way. These alternatives to gas and wood burning fireplaces are a cost effective way to add warmth and interest to any space. These units can easily be used in basements, bedrooms and family rooms. Electric fireplaces are a fabulous solution for renters who are looking to create their own home-like warmth. This Hadley Media Console With Speakers serves not only as an additional source of heat but a tv console, speakers for movie night and storage. With one click of the remote it can alter the flame height, heat temperature, and even has a timer. It is one of my favorite multifunctional pieces!
Daybeds and Trundles
In the downstairs guest bedroom I chose the Daphne Daybed with Trundle. This room doubles as a craft room. The Daphne daybed acts as a couch with the King Coil Pillow Top Euro Twin Mattress on top. I was drawn to its simple lines and warm gray upholstery. The bed is dressed with white linens and and a waffle weave comforter and tucked in comforter so the beautiful silhouette of the Daphne Daybed would always be visible. Then there are those accent pillows that came with the Daine sofas upstairs in the great room! We all love dogs and buffalo check. This was the perfect spot to add whimsy. I added the dark gray end table to serve as a nightstand for guests and extra storage for craft supplies.

Thanks Amie! What about the glass kitchen tiles…so pretty. Are they a greige or warmer grey? You have such a great eye for pulling colors together and finding ways to make colors pop! The lemons!
