The Cake Stand Project: A collection of uniquely styled cake stands

To quote Julia Childs “A party without a cake is just a meeting.” Boy was she right, but the cake stand over the years has proven to serve many uses. This past week I joined a very talented group of blogger to share how each of us style our own cake stands. In addition to the 12 of us I have collected up a few of my personal favorites who played along with the Instagram hashtag #TheCakeStandProject. Here’s my submission. A whimsical combination of a cake stand and mini cupcake stands purchased at HomeGoods. A store bought white cake is the canvas for a fresh floral topper. The kids were breathing down my neck on this photo shoot. @memehillstudio

My friend Lizbeth’s cake plate serves as a base for an amazing colorful floral and fruit arrangement. Just screams Summer!  @homeandfabulous

The fabulous mother and daughter team of Tamara and Joan are the masters of the coffee table vignette. I just love the hot pink and pops of yellow. Super cozy and stylish @2ladiesandachair

My friend Amy styled her cake plates for an afternoon of fun and goodies for her kids. I love her use of turquoise and lemon yellow. I wonder if any of the lemon bars are left over? @crazychicdesign

Susana, the brainchild behind the hashtag used hers in her master bath. Such a stunning room and super glamorous. Just like a spa retreat.  @toochicforwords

Shauna combined a rustic Red Velvet cake with a crystal dripped stand. I’m loving the contrast between the color and white kitchen. @thehouseofsilverlining

Reesa is one of my good friends on IG. She has the most impeccable taste and is a master at weekend entertaining and bite sized food! @modmaxglam
