2018 has started with a BANG! I have so many projects in the works but today I’m particularly excited to share a luxurious bedroom project that started last October. Giving back and sharing my talents is top on my list. As many of you know I have a wonderful partnership with my favorite furniture company Raymour & Flanigan. Last year, I mentioned to Raymour & Flanigan that I would love to donate my design services to a worthy cause and would they like to join me. There are several worthy philanthropic organizations out there but the Golisano’s Children’s Hospital holds a special place in my heart. It happens to be the hospital that my daughter Chloe spent her first days in the NICU under watchful eye.
And The Winner Is…
My sister, Jenni Ralph is on the board for The Golisano’s Children’s Hospital. She and her fellow board members spend countless hours planning events that raise hundred’s of thousands of dollars for this astounding hospital. Each October they host their biggest fundraising gala. This was my opportunity to pull in Raymour & Flanigan for one of the live auctions; a $5000 room makeover to one lucky bidder. The whole evening prior to the auction I was a nervous wreck. Would people bid on my auction item? Come to find out the answer was YES! The high bidder happened to be one of my favorite clients Rhonda. I have to say that Rhonda has the most impeccable taste! So, I knew whatever room we were going to furnish would turn out lavishly spectacular.
A Fresh New Look
Rhonda’s daughter had just moved out on her own and was already in the process of revamping the room with new carpeting and paint. Soon after we met the walls were painted Benjamin Moore’s Nimbus 1465 and new carpet was installed. Rhonda’s vision was a Hollywood Regency glamorous look embracing bright whites, cool grays and pops of turquoise. A luxurious bedroom was right up my alley! This is the mood board that I presented Rhonda using Raymour & Flanigan furniture and accessories. Can you believe that we had enough to buy an additional headboard and pair of lamps for the adjoining guest room?

Velvets, Chenilles and Embroideries
The stunning centerpiece of the room is the romantic Thayer Queen sized bed with button tufting and white plush velvet fabric. If this bed doesn’t make you feel like a queen I don’t know what will! Rhonda purchase the coziest bedding from Soft Surroundings for their luxurious bedroom. We layered the bed with a pair of Dahlia Embellished Pillows. These pillows are adorned with hundreds of mini seashell buttons creating the most eye-catching iridescent turquoise shimmering pattern.
Go For It… Splurge on those Luxury Pillows!
In front of the big window we created cozy sitting area using Rhonda’s existing turquoise and white washed wood accent chair and tufted ottoman.
Mirror, Mirror…
Right next to the accent chair we added the Tierney Round Mirrored Accent Table.I couldn’t believe how beautiful it all looked when the sunlight was streaming through the windows and reflecting on all the walls and furniture.
I was enamored with Tierney table’s silver glazed painted finish and intricate wood carved details. The luxurious bedroom that she dreamed up was coming together!

Hollywood Lights
With the Thayer Bed centered in the middle of the room we had just enough space to add not one but two Hollywood Loft Nightstands. These mirrored nightstands are so remarkably stunning. The pair are the epitome of Hollywood Regency glamour.
The Jewel Box
If we had nothing else in the room but the Hollywood Loft Nightstands that would be OK! These nightstands intricate details can be appreciated at every angle. They draw you with their insanely beautiful craftsmanship; from the embossed leather finish to the beveled mirror accents and drawer fronts, to the stylized silver legs and crystal faceted silver knobs. The interesting details don’t stop.
Atop the nightstands were the sizable Vinadio Table lamps. The lamps add a rich presence and cast warm light. The wooden bases are distressed and silver leafed giving an authentic hand made look.
Finishing Touches
We’re still waiting on the custom curtain panels and a few additional accessories but the room is ready for guests. I will update this post as soon as they are added but until then Rhonda’s sweet dog Gabby is the first in line to enjoy this lavish space.
The Guest Suite
I’m thrilled to share the adjoining bath that was in mid renovation when Rhonda and I started the bedroom design. Soft grays, whites, mirrored accents and mixed metals provided a remarkable inspiration and color palette.
I want to thank Rhonda and her husband for bidding on this auction item. The Golisano’s Children’s Hospital raised close to $1 million that night alone! If you’d like to learn more about this wonderful hospital and their groundbreaking research and leading edge technology click here. Also, a great big thanks to my friends at Raymour & Flanigan. Without them I could have never brought this space to life. I also partnered on a fabulous teen bedroom makeover and a farmhouse sunroom makeover with my RF friends.
Here’s to creating special spaces and helping others at the same time!
