Fall on Cayuga Lake
Summer is amazing but in my opinion there is no better time to be on a lake than Fall. September and October on Cayuga Lake is simply magnificent. The weather is tolerable and the leaves are changing into a beautiful autumnal color palette. I couldn’t wait to decorate down at the water. I am sharing our recent addition of Adirondack chairs and so fun Fall decor including hearty mums, real pumpkins and amazing outdoor solar battery powered crinkle lights from Lights.com.
Solar Outdoor Lights
Who wants to be changing batteries all the time? Not me. We are anxiously awaiting our lake house renovation but in the meantime we need light to illuminate the stairs down to the water. Sunset comes earlier and this was the ideal solution to add Fall vibes and task lighting at the same time. In addition to the mercury glass pumpkin LED light and 11 inch metal navy blue waterproof flameless lanterns I ordered six of these crinkle garden solar globe lights. 2 large, 2 medium and 2 small. A blend of my favorite outdoor solar lights.
Carefree Fall Decorating
A trip to a local Amish market just around the other side of the lake proved fruitful. We loaded up massive burgundy mums, pumpkins of all sizes, shapes and colors and gourds galore. Each mum was placed in between our new poly resin Adirondack chairs and piled the pumpkins up high at both ends of the chair grouping.
Crinkle Globe Lights
The crinkle globe lights are heavier than you think! They weigh just a little less than a bocce ball. There are twinkle lights inside and they magically turned on right at dusk after being charged for a few hours out in the sun. I placed the glass pumpkin light on the poly resin outdoor side table. This fun accent is lightweight and did not want the dogs to bump into it. On the other tables went the navy blue metal outdoor candle lanterns. It was the perfect balance.
The North Shores of Cayuga Lake
As the clouds rolled in I captured this image looking out on the water. The lake was still as could be and looked like glass. Even with all the clouds I loved how everything looked. It was time to get ready for our nightly fire down on the water.
Fall in the Finger Lakes
As the night progressed it looked like the lights grew stronger. I could only wonder how pretty it looked from out on the water looking toward the shoreline? As we soon close up the lake house I plan to use these solar outdoor lights at our new home outside around the Christmas tree. I can just see them glowing on the front steps as the snow falls. But for now we are just soaking up the remainder of Fall in the Finger Lakes region. See you down on the water. Look for our lights!
