Are you looking to make your Easter tableĀ special but donāt know where to start? Well I’m here toĀ help whether itās a big group or an intimate dinner for two. Iām sharing 5 simpleĀ steps and ideas for decorating a gorgeous Easter tablescape. Letās get started…
Layer Linens
I always start with a crisp tablecloth, table runner or placemats. They the first part to layering and anchoring your table decor. Iāve chosen a bright colored abstract table runner with hot pinks, purples and turquoise. This custom table runner is from the talented home decor duo Smith-Honig. The pattern is called Threadbare. I fell in love with this fabric while visiting the Smilh-Honig booth at January Market. It was the inspirationĀ for my entire tablescape.
Ā Add Faux or Fragrant Florals
Spring is all aboutĀ FLOWERS. You can choose a large silk flower arrangement for the center of the table, fresh flowers, or even a flowering plant. The choice is up to you. My favorite is this silkĀ floral arrangement from my sister Jenni at Wisteria Flowers and Gifts. I had her surprise me and arrange these flowers using the colors from Smith-Honig’s runner. I was in awe how perfect it looked.

Make sure your tablescape is interesting from all angles

I have been collecting rabbits for a few years now and new to my collection are these white and black bunnies with gold painted ears! The compliment myĀ gold flatware. My moss covered bunnies from last year make another appearance and mysteriously seemed to reproduce.
Light It Up
Create height and ambiance by adding candlesticks, driplessĀ gold tapers and shimmering votives. I pulled out my wedding candlesticks, gold tapers and added turquoise mercury glass votives etched with rabbits.
Miix & Match Dinnerware
If youāre one who saves their fine china for special occasions- nowās the time to take it out! I layered my wedding china with inexpensive plates. Iāve mixed colors and patterns, giving each place setting its own unique look. Its hard to tell the difference between the $120. plate and the $20. plate.
I added hand painted wooden eggs in egg cups filled with green paper grass for and extra Easter touch.
Make it Personal
Make each of your guest feel special by personalizing their place setting with a place card holder or a take home gift. Here Iāve tied handmade name tags to gourmet chocolate bars using scrapbook paper, marker and wired ribbon. No artistic talent needed.
Flatware Tip:
Ā Forks always go on the left and knives and spoons on the right. Knives point into the place setting. Smaller salad forks and spoons are on the outside and occasionally above the plate.Ā
Now youāre all ready for Easter. Just donāt forget to have fun!
If you’re looking for something a little more formal- I have my tablescape from my parents house where I used my great grandparent china. If you like blue this is the postĀ for you! Setting a Traditional Easter TableĀ Ā or maybe you missed my last post about my living room decorated with Easter egg colored pillows!
