Stylish Durable Outdoor Furniture
Summer is finally here after a long cold New York Winter! Time to head on down to the lake and celebrate the warmer days with family and friends. If you follow along on my Instagram feed then you know we have had special projects in the works. Well, I couldn’t be more excited to announce that we are all done with our bunkhouse and new outdoor furniture. I am elated to finally share all of the changes made to our Itsy Bitsy Lakehouse
Small Outdoor Patio Solutions
One of the major improvements we made was getting a new back deck, door, and siding. When you make all those beautiful new updates it’s a sin to keep an old dilapidated picnic table. My family wanted something stylish, durable, easy to clean and could seat at least 6 with room for more. Finally, I found what we desperately needed. After countless hours of scouring outdoor furniture websites online I needed to go no further than my favorite furniture store Raymour & Flanigan. The Cityscape Chrysler 7-piece outdoor dining set was the winner!
Small on space, big on style
Our back deck was just 15 feet deep so we needed streamline outdoor furniture to allow access the new back door and grill. I loved how the welded aluminum and two-tone powder-coated finish slats of The Chrysler 7-piece set made it easy to clean. This narrow bar height table has just enough room to spread out for our backyard clambakes and BBQs. The bar height stools are lightweight and and fit neatly under the 82″ long table. No more bulky heavy furniture to lug around or to pack up during the Winter months. We love it so much we moved it around front to the dock for Honeoye Lake’s 4th of July Ring of Fire fireworks display! Now that is what we call front row seating!

Finding the Best Mattress
Yes, our long awaited backyard shed turned dream bunkhouse is finally done. For the past five years we have been cramming guests on sofas and in sleeping bags on the porch floor. Kids were piling up in Chloe’s small bedroom. Sleepover bags, towels and camp gear were taking over the entire cottage. Finally, a space that all of guests can spread out and sleep comfortably! We needed four mattresses for the dual bunks. Buying one mattress can be costly but imagine purchasing 4? Marie, my favorite sales associate at the Henrietta Raymour & Flanigan showroom steered me in the right direction. We needed 4 twin size mattresses that were comfortable yet didn’t break the bank.
I was like Mama Bear trying out all the mattresses. As soon as I sat on the Serta Sleep True Clarenvilla firm twin mattress and saw the price it was a done deal. The four mattresses were delivered just three days later at the cottage along with another piece that I have been eyeing for months….
Bathing Blue Beauty
Minutes after I posted this picture to my Instagram and Facebook pages the inquiries about the Matrix Accent Chest came flooding in. In fact, I fell in love with pieces months ago while shopping for my client Stacey’s front foyer. She also has a deep love for all things blue and white. The best thing about this versatile piece is that it comes in two other colors. BONUS!
Styling the Perfect Accent Chest
As I mentioned above, even before the bunkhouse decorating started I wanted to use this piece. Seriously, can we be any luckier with the width? I literally ordered the width of the shed to accommodate this nautical inspired dresser. It was now time to style it…. my favorite part!
After lining the drawers with scented navy and white striped drawer liners we filled the Matrix Accent Chest with fun beach essentials like towels, games, and extra blankets for those chilly Fall nights. Snacks packed in a rustic sailboat and lake life coffee table books welcome our weekend guests.
Design Tip:
Look for statement pieces that have bold colors, unique decorative features and stylish hardware. These versatile pieces can be moved from room to room and are always eye catchers!
Fun in The Sun
Now that our little compound down by the lake is finished we can finally enjoy the beautiful weather, comfortable accommodations, and entertain family and friends in STYLE! We can’t wait to soak up all the fun in the sun! Come on by!
