This new build has the most amazing ceiling heights. And where some homes have crazy crown mouldings and columns this home is about accentuating heights and adding applied trim in an artistic way. From a big open box to this! It’s all the difference ! .

For almost a year now we’ve been researching, pinning, sketching, debating, deciding and rethinking and this is we’re are at today. . It’s far from simple and once painted it’ll be a work of art on its own. LOVING IT…and loving see my clients dream home come to life with the help of a fabulous builder and incredible craftsmen. How many of us just use a portion of our home? ✋🏼 So not everyone has a pocketful of cash to put on additions or go crazy with remodeling … but there are ways to add more usable livable functional space! .

I’ve been planning this lake house renovation for a while now. And this cozy cottage is actually the GUEST HOUSE 🏡. It’s not super big but it’s nestled on the prettiest stretch of Keuka Lake. With lots of restrictions waterfront renovations have their own limitations. There was no way to add on to this home so we had to think smart about utilizing every single inch…. ALL while keeping its charm. Could it be done? .

Absolutely! The front room was a catch all, and no one wanted to stay in the back of the house when the view was on the other side, looking at the water. The kitchen was closed off and dark. First things first was opening up the doorway and removing the cabinetry giving an open sight line from the back of the house into the kitchen. Immediately this back room will be the place that people won’t mind hanging out. .OPEN UP DOOR WAYS.

More details on the kitchen makeover which includes removing the dreaded soffits of the 60’s!! Another way to add store square footage in a kitchen. Stay tuned. I’ll be sharing more of this cozy family lakeside retreat!

Lately I’ve been juggling a few big jobs and fee

Lately I’ve been juggling a few big jobs and feeling like I’m in a hurricane but between yesterday and today I can see all the fruits of hard labor surfacing. Design decisions being made a year ago coming to life and what I see in my head is not always understood until it is right in front of eyes.

Taking risks, doing things you haven’t seen before or breaking the proverbial rules is ok with me. Do I have a style? I’m not sure, but at the end of the day my clients need to love the space they live in. And they all have their own tastes.

Today I was on site of this modern farmhouse that has been in the works for a really long time. Talking ceiling treatments, built ins, fireplace surrounds, etc… Lots of people hustling today and the sawdust was flying like a hurricane. So I stood in the middle of the hurricane and smiled. Lots of amazing folks who bring my vision to life and I am beyond grateful for all their talents. ..

This week the 2.5 inch countertops were installed. I was so excited. Plumbing, paint and lighting coming soon. 🤞🏼

I promised myself I’d wait until after Christmas to share non holiday content but while dancing in the hurricane I realized I couldn’t wait to share. The cherry on top is when clients become friends… 🫶🏼 Id love to hear your thoughts.. .
